Phuket Sunset Boat

     I was raised in the north halfway to the North Pole. I experienced lots of cloud types, but they were nothing like the clouds that can be seen in the tropics around the equator. Their shapes and texture are as if they were painted onto a clear, cerulean-blue sky. Thanks to the pandemic, I was marooned in Indonesia and Thailand for over three years until China reopened and I could return to my photography project there. During that time, I experienced the visual magic of equatorial clouds. Never a dull evening for photography. This image was created on a bay in Phuket, Thailand. There was no lack of foreground elements in the form of decorative longtail boats. I would wait for Nature to create its artwork and paint the sky with golden sunset clouds.  The rest was up to me.
