A Gathering of Water Lilies

     Photography is as much of a medium used to create art as it is for documenting and recording scenes and events. Nature provides us with the elements and subjects to accomplish both types. It is up to us as photographers to decide how to combine those elements into images that transcend from documentaries into art. I always try to blur the perceived boundary between how we define photography and art. Such is the case in this image. This cluster of lily pads and blossoms was taken in the moat that surrounds the Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia.
